PEERS Program

The Springboard Momentum PEERS® for Young Adults program, developed at the UCLA PEERS® clinic

The PEERS® curriculum uses research-based interventions centered on actual social skills displayed by socially successful young adults. Sessions focus on starting and maintaining conversations, finding sources of friends, electronic communication, use of humor, dating, handling disagreements and bullying. The sessions are co-led by Springboard Momentum social coaches who also meet individually with group members on a weekly basis to practice concepts learned in group and fine tune everyone’s skills.

Mindfulness/Self-Care Support Group

Our Mindfulness and Self-Care support group (18+) is designed to help group members work towards their wellness goals with a holistic approach. Each week, participants will spend time learning about, nourishing, and exploring the mind-body-spirit connection through the use and practice of mindfulness and self-care techniques. This is an open group, meaning that participants are able to attend any session(s) without an obligation to continue with the group.

Experiential & Adventure Programming

Creative minds need creative solutions. At Springboard, we offer adaptable individualized support that extends beyond the traditional in-office talk therapy model. Through our individual and group experiential services, clients can expect to engage in facilitated activities that promote creative processing and problem-solving with practical applications. During these activities, participants will begin to identify and cope with emotions that may arise in alignment with their treatment goals.

Clinical Therapy

Treating every client with empathy and respect is the core of our work. At Springboard, we specialize in taking a strengths-based approach with clients who experience symptoms associated with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, and depression. Common symptoms we address include rejection sensitive dysphoria (RSD), pathological demand avoidance (PDA), and other executive functioning challenges. We use evidence-based treatments including:

  • Motivational interviewing

  • Stages of change

  • CBT

  • Behavioral activation therapy

  • Mindfulness-based stress management

  • Family systems therapy

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Experiential therapy

Telehealth, in-office, and community-based options are available depending on the need of the client and provider availability. Visit our team page to learn more about our clinicians and their specialties!

Assessment

Psychological assessments are offered to evaluate the correct level of care, best treatment options and optimal academic or employment environment for the individual. Assessments increase insight into strengths and areas for improvement. Assessments are focused on the specific needs of the individual and can include cognitive testing, executive function evaluation, achievement testing, personality and behavioral assessments. A complete written report of the results is reviewed with the client to ensure understanding of the findings and respond to questions and carefully consider all recommendations.
